TL;DR

Burgas is small enough that any central neighbourhood works — the real choice is noise versus price versus how far you want to walk after a show.

The four areas, honestly

City centre — Aleksandrovska, Bogoridi and the pedestrian core. Loudest, closest to the bars, everything walkable. This is the default for a short trip and the first area to sell out for contest week.

Sea Garden edge — park on one side, beach on the other, calmer nights, five minutes from the action. Best compromise if you want to sleep between semifinals.

Lazur — residential blocks north of the park with cheap apartments, good bus links and real-neighbourhood bakeries. A two-bedroom flat here or in Vazrazhdane puts you about 15 minutes from the arena and usually costs less than two hotel rooms — plus a kitchen, a washing machine and a balcony for drying flags.

Sarafovo — the fishing village by the airport: quiet, seafood-heavy, 20 minutes into town by bus. Great for a slow holiday, less great for 2am returns.

Hotel or apartment?

For groups of three or more, apartments usually win on both price and practicality. Solo travellers and couples do better in the small boutique houses between Bogoridi and the beach — restored early-20th-century buildings with courtyards that turn into informal fan meeting points at night. At the top end, the seafront resort beside the Sea Garden is the most polished address in town, with pools, a spa and its own beach.

Booking timing

Burgas is a summer resort city: rooms are already tight in May in a normal year. Contest week compresses a whole season into ten days. Book something with free cancellation as early as you can and upgrade later.
